The very real threat of high profile cyber attacks during the Olympics is alarming as London comes under the scrutiny of the world, writes one IT security specialist.

The Home Office has warned that cyber attacks pose as serious a threat to Britain’s national security as terrorism, particularly as we gear up for the start of the London Olympic Games. Speaking at the National Security 2012 Conference in London, Richard Clarke, the Home Office security and counter terrorism department director, claimed that hackers appear to be becoming more aggressive and persistent in their efforts.
